About Yogi

Yogi originates from the foothills of the Polish Tatra Mountains, where a deep appreciation for alpine environments and especially winter was instilled early in life.

Introduced at a young age to skiing, mountaineering, and winter sports, Yogi progressed through rigorous training with European military ski teams and participated in numerous climbing expeditions throughout Eastern Europe. During a period when Poland remained behind the Iron Curtain, his mountaineering pursuits took him through the Carpathians, Ural, and Caucasus ranges, with skiing serving as a constant foundation of his outdoor endeavors.

After immigrating to the United States, Yogi continued to expand his expertise. He earned certifications with the National Ski Patrol (NSP) and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) and trained under highly respected coaches in the United States, Chile, and Italy.

Yogi served for many years at Blandford Ski Area and later joined Berkshire East following Blandford’s closure. With more than a decade of involvement in ski racing programs, he is dedicated to developing young athletes, helping them reach their full potential while cultivating a lasting passion for the sport. His coaching philosophy is guided by the principle: “Whatever we do, we do with purpose and intensity - while maintaining an environment of enjoyment and enthusiasm.”

In addition to his coaching career, Yogi holds an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management and operates his own local business.

When not on the snow, Yogi enjoys hiking, traveling, mountain biking, and, on occasion, sailing.
